FAQs

Do I need to be on an ADVENTURE REHAB programme to book on a family activity break?

No just book on line or phone the office – it might be the only thing you do with us – but let us help you to bring your family together focusing on what can be achieved!

You run family activity breaks can children be catered for?

We believe that the family needs to be involved in the journey – the ADVENTURE REHAB team all have family and young children – we understand the pressures and importance of accommodating the whole family in the ‘Adventure’ – and make our family activity breaks exactly that – family orientated breaks that that you can all participate in and enjoy each other’s company in an great outdoor setting while developing your understanding of the issues that surround rehabilitation and help you to rebound as a family team.

Can people or family get hold of me while I am away?

Yes of course!…

If I have a domestic issue while I am away with ADVENTURE REHAB can it be sorted out or can I get home if I need to?

Yes – we will often be away from the trappings of regular domestics but will always have communications with our office and so by satellite phone or by email we will be easy to contact in case of emergencies.  We can then make any arrangements necessary to get you back should it be necessary.

If I have a problem with my medication or my prosthetic while I am on your course can it be sorted out?

All our courses are supported by medical staff who can provide GP services should they be necessary and in the case of amputee courses we will have prosthetic support during the course and minor issues can be solved there and then.  More major issues should they arise may require changes in plan – but we will cope with those as they arise.

Your both ex military guys – Ive seen ‘Boot camp’ style programmes on the TV – is this approach in your philosophy?

Absolutely not.  There are no grade 1 hair cuts in our team, and we enjoy the environment too much to drown out the sounds of what wildlife lives there! ‘lead, coach and mentor’ is a mantra we continue and believe in from our time delivering training to Royal Marines recruits – you may get occasionally wet- but then we will be out on the moor or on the sea with you every step of the way!

Do I need to buy lots of expensive kit to attend your courses?

No you will receive a short kit list of basics that most people will already have, you may need a set of outdoor shoes, and a set of waterproofs – the rest we will provide.

Do I get any 1 to 1 physio or psychologist time during your courses?

Yes – throughout the week long modules you will receive at least 4 individual physiotherapy sessions.

Why do you believe that group rehab achieves better results than 1 on 1 session with my physio at home?

We have participated in and delivered individual and group rehab – and the dynamics of group activity always yields better outcomes – our philosophy in the outdoor clinic works so well with a group of clients all assisting each other through their shared experience and as specialists in group leadership our team is able to deliver almost 1 on 1 coaching and mentoring across the full spectrum of our approach the whole time.  IN all the package is peer lead and mutually supporting and we know it works – why else would rehabilitation in a military environment be managed in this style?

I live locally to your base can I participate from home?

We really recommend that you participate in ADVENTURE REHAB courses in a full residential setting and enjoy the wider benefits of being detached from your domestic environment and spending time in the company of a new group sharing your experiences.
